Rabies is a highly infectious viral disease of humans and animals. Viral RNA is a single stranded molecule. Nucleocapsid contains all the RNA and made up of 96% protein and 45 RNA. Major antigenic groups of rabies virus have been determine by anti-nucleocapsid monoclonal antibody.
