Steam Ejector (Desuper Heater) Description
Desuperheating is always possible where superheated steam occurs as live steam directly from a boiler or as lower pressure steam produced from throttling high prossure steam.
Essentially, the steam is cooled by the injection of water. Care must be taken to ensure that the water evaporates fully and no carry-through to the pipe walls occurs, as it is necessary to avoid material damage by thermal shock. The superheat is taken upin evaporating the cooling water and as well as cooling, an additional quantity of steam is gained.
