This element is a PTC thermostat of ceramic system which is characterized by the positive temperature coefficient characteristics that raise resistance rate when the temperature rise. This PTC thermostat has very low resistance value if the circuit works normally, but when there is overcurrent or when the rise of ambient temperature produce heat, These cause abrupt resistance rise of PTC and limits the flow of the current.
