Parking is as easy as ABC with Sondar Ultrasonic Parking Guide System developed by Shin Chang Co.
Sondar is a combination of sonic radar, which involves transmitting and receiving sonic waves. When a vehicle with Sondar is backing up, the sensor attached on the rear part of the vehicle detects an obstacle by transmitting ultrasonic pulses and receiving reflections from the obstacle. The controller calculates the distance from the obstacle and sends the distance signal to a buzzer/LED or display. The buzzer/LED or display warns the driver by sounding an alarm or displaying the distance from the obstacle. This system is designed to assist the driver to avoid any damage to the vehicle or accidents during parking. As the ultrasonic sensor detects obstacles in back of the vehicle like trees, parking meters, cars or other projecting objects and then sounds an alarm or shows the distance from the obstacle in accordance with the position of the car, the driver can easily and comfortably park the car in a limited space with the least danger of hitting the obstacle. |
