SAFE HANDLING OF PRODUCTS All our open-stock Decals are tested against heavy metal release. While every effort is made to produce Decals of the highest quality the glaze in ceramics orglass and the firing conditions will affect the level ofheavy metal which may be released in contact with acid food. If regulations exist in the markets for which the decorated ware is intended carefully testing of each batch of Decals should be undertaken. Although Decals contain toxic materials they are normally bonded in such a way as to render them harmless during application processes. During firing however fumes will be given off which can cause throat and nasal irritations. These must therefore be ventilated to the atmosphere and not allowed to permeate into the work areas.
